When and Why the Post-Jesus Jesus Moment Began to Spread

There are some things that must be understood about the early years of the Jesus Movement.

(1) Jesus lived in Galilee and taught in Samaria and Judea.
(2) His message was directed to Jews, not Gentiles.
(3) He never left those lands to take his message to non-Jews.
(4) He was crucified by the order of the Roman governor by Roman soldiers.
(5) The apostles remained in Jerusalem after the crucifixion.
(6) The apostles led an exclusively Jewish movement.
(7) The apostles never called themselves Christians.
(8) Christianity did not exist during the life of Jesus or immediately following the crucifixion.
(9) Neither Jesus nor the apostles authorized Paul to be an apostle.

The primary biblical source of the above information is the Book of the Acts of the Apostles. The answers to questions posed by the title of this blog -- when and why the post-Jesus Jesus Moment began to spread – are linked to a Jewish man from the Diaspora, who was also a Roman citizen, named Saul, who was also known as Paul.

The place of stoning was at a distance from the court, as it is said, ‘Take out the one who has cursed.’ [i] A man stands at the entrance of the court; in his hand is a signaling flag [Hebrew   sudarin = sudar , ‘scarf, sweater’]. A horseman was stationed far away but within sight of him. If one [of the judges] says, ‘I have something [more] to say in his favor,’ he [the signaler] waves the   sudarin , and the horseman runs and stops them [from stoning him]. Even if [the condemned person] himself says, ‘I have something to say in my favor,’ they bring him back, even four of five times, only provided that there is some substance to...

Deuteronomy and the Creation of Messianic Realities

Moses led the tribes of Israel to the place they stopped and could see the Promised Land. As they stood there, a cloud moved above the door of the Tabernacle. God would soon inaugurate Joshua to lead the people into their new homeland. But, only Moses heard what God said about the future of the new nation.
