This
title is meant to be funny and serious at the same time. It is meant to be funny because in the time
of Moses there was no such thing as a “church.”
It is meant to be serious because the Greek text of Acts 7:38 uses the
Greek word evkklhsia (ekklēsia)
that is often translated “church” in the New Testament.
KJV Acts 7:37 This is that Moses,
which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise
up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. 38
This is he, that was in the church
in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with
our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us.
The American Standard Version also uses “church” to translate the word. Read Dr. Tennison’s complete blog at -- http://bhcbiblestudies.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-first-church-of-moses-in-wilderness.html
