Melchizedek plays a very important role in
Christianity. Many believe he was the High Priest of a priesthood that replaced
the Levites -- and also the father of
Christian tithing. He plays a much different role in Judaism.
Interestingly, Melchizedek is only mentioned twice in the Hebrew Bible
and nine times in the New Testament.
